This magazine design was developed as part of a university assignment, using content based on a report from the humanistic think tank “Humtank.” Humtank is known for its in-depth analysis and insights into humanistic and social issues.
ABOUT
While the Humtank-report provided the content basis, the primary focus of this university project was on design, layout and typography. The goal was to explore how layout and typographic choices can enhance storytelling, ensure clarity, and create an engaging reading experience.
THE DESIGN
The design emphasizes effective storytelling through a grid-based layout that maintains a clear structure while introducing dynamism with varied spreads. Inspiration was drawn from the minimalist and efficient structures of interior design magazines, aiming to balance readability with visual interest. A combination of sans serif and serif typefaces was employed to create contrast and enhance the overall readability of the magazine.
